California Woman Mauled to Death by Pack of Stray Dogs on Walking Trail

**Feather Falls, Butte County, CA**— A 56-year-old woman has tragically lost her life after being viciously attacked by a pack of stray dogs on a walking trail in Feather Falls, Butte County, California.

The victim, identified as Davina Corbin, was found in the early hours of Thursday morning by a neighbor on the Blackhawk Trail. According to the Butte County Sheriff's Office, her body bore "numerous bite marks and injuries" consistent with an attack by domestic dogs.

Ms. Corbin's clothing was also covered in DNA matching that of domestic dogs, leading authorities to believe that the attack was carried out by a group of 25 Great Danes known to roam the area. The dogs have since been captured and are now in the custody of Butte County Animal Control.

A medical examiner has confirmed that Ms. Corbin's cause of death was due to injuries sustained in the dog attack. An investigation is currently underway to compare the DNA of the captured dogs with that found on Ms. Corbin’s clothing, which will help identify the specific dog or dogs responsible for the fatal attack.

Local resident Max Heckler, a neighbor of the victim, expressed his frustration in an interview with KCRA, revealing that he had previously raised concerns about the aggressive behavior of the dogs with animal control authorities. “Nothing’s been done about it until now. Wait until somebody gets killed by those dogs. That’s a tragedy that should have never, ever have happened, ever," he stated.

The tragic incident has sparked a broader conversation about the handling of stray dogs in the area and the responsibility of local authorities to address such issues before they result in loss of life.
